Someone just sent me this link to a video demonstration of a (n improved) software that allows navigation of public photos, from flickr for example, by recreating a 3-dimensional environment. I’m told this is in development at University of Washington and was presented at SIGGRAPH ‘08. It’s some really impressive stuff! Video demonstration after the jump.

Lately, I’m totally obsessed with WALL•E, which I think is my favorite movie since The Matrix. I fully recommend it; as usual, Pixar does not disappoint. Anyway, I was poking around on youtube and found out that disney/pixar has made a real animatronic WALL•E, presumably for one of their theme parks. Awesome! Clip of him in action after the break.
